Usually, there are two types of cylindrical rubber fenders, one is for offshore docks and the other is for ships. Here we will introduce some standard sizes of cylindrical fenders for docks. Cylindrical rubber fenders are simple-profile designed rubber fenders, manufactured by molding, extruding or warping methods. The inner hollow diameter of cylindrical fender is designed in proportion with the outer diameter. With standard ratios 1:2 or 1:1.75 of inner diameter to the outer diameter, this fender type is designed with about 50% compressive deflection, which provides for low reaction force and reasonable energy absorption.
A wide range of standard sizes are available with height from 150mm to 1600mm. CY400×L, CY500×L, CY600×L are middle small types of cylindrical fenders (for more detailed dimensions and information, please click on cylindrical type rubber fender). The standard lengths are available from 500mm to 3000mm, to be able to fit for some extreme cases.
Because of the simple fender design, the cylindrical fenders can be installed with many methods, including suspending with chains and steel bars, mounting either vertically or horizontally. The hollow cylindrical rubber fenders are excellent cushion methods for berthing vessel. Installing on the docks, they can well protect the structures and the vessels from damage.
