Floating fenders are quite different from other fixed fenders. They can usually float on the water without fearing of the tidal variations. The docks equipped with the floating fenders usually can berth at any sea level. Because of this feature, the floating fenders are frequently used all over the world and many subdivisions are evolved.
The structure of the floating fenders should be introduced. The main body of the floating fenders contains rubber layer, packing layer and steel bar. The rubber layer and the packing layer are super elastomeric and robust. Even under great compression, they will not be damaged in general. The steel bar are made of high quality and impact resistant iron materials. The steel bar can effectively support the whole fender.
When installed onto the docks, the floating fenders are connected with chains and the other ends of the chains are fixed onto the dock structures. This installation method leaves enough space for the floating fenders to move along with the rise and fall of the sea level and also makes the fenders stay at the right place.
