Cylindrical rubber fenders are manufactured by molding, extruding or warping methods with a simple hollow cylindrical profile. The fenders’ inner diameter is designed in proportion with the outer diameter, whose standard ratios are usually 1:2 or 1:1.75. This design allows about 50% compressive deflection, which provides for low reaction force and reasonable energy absorption.
A wide range of sizes are optional for cylindrical rubber fenders, so that various applications can be suitable. CY150×L, CY200×L, CY250×L, CY300×L are small types of cylindrical fenders (for more detailed dimensions and information, please refer to cylindrical type rubber fender). Even compared with many other types rubber fenders, they are far smaller. The lengths are adjustable according to customers’ requirements, just in case they are needed in some extreme cases.
Many installation methods are available including suspending with chains, steel bars, mounting vertically or horizontally. Auch, because of the simple profile, the fenders are easy to install and maintain, which can save a lot of costs. With a hollow inside, cylindrical rubber fenders act well as an excellent cushion to prevent dock structures and vessel hulls from damage by collisions or berthing impacts. Those small sizes of fenders can even be taken as the back-up protecting methods for dock fendering systems to absorb extra impacts.
