There are two types of cylindrical fenders can be used for two scenarios. One is for docks and the other is for boats. In different docks, there is always a place for cylindrical fenders.
By molding, extruding or warping methods, cylindrical rubber fenders can be manufactured with great physical properties. A simple designed hollow cylindrical profile which can be compressed by 50%, makes this type if fender have excellent energy absorption capability and low reaction force. The fenders’ inner diameter is designed in proportion with the outer diameter, whose standard ratios are usually 1:2 or 1:1.75.
Various sizes of cylindrical fenders are designed for different applications. The large models of fenders such as CY1300×L, CY1400×L, CY1500×L, CY1600×L special solutions for very large docks (for more detailed dimensions and information, please refer to cylindrical type rubber fender). These extreme cases need some large fenders with great energy absorption to protect vessels and dock structures.
Meanwhile, another advantage of cylindrical rubber fenders is the easy installation method and low maintenance. Many installation methods are available including suspending with chains, steel bars, mounting vertically or horizontally which is quite easy and can save a lot of costs. With a hollow inside, cylindrical rubber fenders act well as an excellent cushion to prevent dock structures and vessel hulls from damage by collisions or berthing impacts.
