Sling type pneumatic rubber fenders are more and more frequently used for large vessels for their lightness in weight and convenience in installation and in storage. That’s because the fenders are simple design and they can be deflated when off duty. When they are needed again, they are easy to install.
Sling type pneumatic rubber fenders has reinforced their rubber layer. The rubber layer is composed of three layers in general. This design makes the fenders strong, intensive and elastomeric. They can, therefore, endure large compression caused by the berthing impacts.
In different situations, the initial pressure of the sling type pneumatic rubber fenders can be adjusted so that the fenders can provide their best performance. The installation method used for the fender is also beneficial to exert the efficiency of the fenders to the utmost. By using the chains as connection between the fenders and the facilities, the fenders can remain flexible and keep in the right place. They are also frequently used for tidal docks.
